Debugging - Recordings

The Recording page on the Debugging menu displays a list of numbers that configured to have the RTP media captured if a call is from or to that number.  The number can be any valid customer or PSTN number in an E.164 format (without the + symbol).  Note:  The user interface currently enforces an exact 11 digit number be entered, this is validation check will be removed in an upcoming system upgrade.




Key Terminology


NUMBER - The telephone number to capture RTP media packets for when a call is placed either to or from the number.


START DATE - The date the number was added to the recording list.


END DATE - An optional date to automatically stop recording new calls that are made after the end date. 


NOTE - A text field to provide comments for why the calls are being recorded for this number.



To view a list of recorded calls, click on a number in the NUMBER column.  To download the recording (a pcap capture file) click on the download icon.  The recording can be analyzed in any tool that supports pcap files (e.g. Wireshark). 



To add a new number to the Recording list click the + Add number button.


Enter the number if the Number field. Optionally add a comment in the Note field and add a End date.  Click the Add number button when finished.




To edit an existing number, click the horizontal ellipsis to the right of the number and select Edit.



To delete an existing number, click the horizontal ellipsis to the right of the number and select Delete. The click Delete number in the confirmation dialog box.
