The Numbering page defaults to the Number tab which displays a table view of all the DID and Toll Free numbers provisioned on the Orchestrator.
Key Terminology
NUMBER - This is the telephone number in an e.164 format (less the + symbol). All numbers are stored in this format.
TYPE - The telephone number can be either a DID number or a Toll Free number.
CONNECTION - This column displays the name of the connection that the number is associated with. Every number must be associated with a single connection.
EMERGENCY - This column identifies if the number is provisioned in 46 Labs' Emergency Services Partner's system. For a number to be properly enabled for emergency services the following criteria must be met:
- It must be a US DID number
- A MSAG (geo-coded) validated civic address must be associated with the number.
- A notification recipient (email address) must be associated with the number.
All 911 emergency calls are routed to 46 Labs' Emergency Services Partner regardless of this setting. However, when the calling party number (ANI) in the emergency call is not enabled for emergency services, the call is directed to their national response center instead of the PSAP. Additionally, the customer will be billed for this call ($250 per emergency call as of March 2025).
TAGS - A tag is a word or text phrase that can provide additional meaning to the number. A number can be associated with multiple tags.
NUMBER STATUS - A number can be configured for failover (the ability to forward a call to a PSTN different number or back to the PSTN on a failure event) or forwarded (the ability to forward the call to a different PSTN number.
STATUS - The status of a number can be either enabled (the toggle is to the right) or disabled (the toggle is to the left). PSTN inbound calls can only be placed to enabled numbers.
To edit a number, click on the horizonal ellipsis to the right of the number's STATUS column and click Edit. For details on which attributes can be edited see the Numbering - Add number.
To delete a number click on the horizonal ellipsis to the right of the number's STATUS column and click Delete. Click the Delete number button in the confirmation dialog box to delete the number.
See Numbering - Add number for details on how to add, remove, or change number attributes (i.e. connection, tags, emergency addresses, etc.) for a single number.
See Numbering - Upload number for details on how to add, remove, or change number attributes (i.e. connection, tags, emergency addresses, etc.) by using csv files.
The Export button can be used to export the numbers to a csv file. Provide a name for the csv file in the Name this file field. The output can be filtered to a specific connection by selected the connection from the Connection field. Select All to not filter the output be connection. Optionally, you can filter the output by a specific Tag or set of Tags.
