Dialed Number Identification Service (DNIS)

Created by Kelly Evans, Modified on Thu, 30 Jan at 4:59 PM by Kelly Evans

Dialed Number Identification Service (DNIS) refers to the telephone service that acts as an identifier for the receiver of a call. It is the number that the caller dialed.

This is a common feature of 800 and 900 lines. If you have multiple 800 or 900 numbers going to the same destination, the DNIS indicates which number was called.
