A typical Microsoft Teams direct routing deployment using the 46 Labs Peeredge Orchestrator (SBC) includes the addition of the customername.peeredge.com domain name to the customer's Microsoft Tenant.   The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) used by the 46 Labs Peeredge Orchestrators will include this domain name. Using a peeredge.com domain name will allow 46 Labs to manage and update the Orchestrator's certificates.

For example, given a Microsoft Teams deployment in North Americathe SBC names could be:

sbc-dal.customername.peeredge.com

sbc-ash.customername.peeredge.com

Follow these steps to add a new domain to a Microsoft Tenant.

1. Verify with 46 Labs the actual domain name to be added.

2. Login to the Microsoft 365 admin center and click on Add domain from the Home --> Settings --> Domains menu.

3. Add the new domain name in the Domain name field and click Use this domain.

4. Verify that Add a TXT record to the domain's DNS records is selected and click Continue.

5.  Send the TXT name and TXT value (screenshot is acceptable) to 46 Labs (i.e. kelly.evans@46labs.com)

6.  46 Labs will add the DNS TXT record to the customername.peeredge.com domain.

To verify the DNS TXT record has been added using dig:

To verify the DNS TXT record has been added using PowerShell:

7. After the DNS TXT record has been added to the domain, click Verify.

When presented with the Connection options step  click on More options.

The new domain name as been successfully added to the Microsoft Tenant.

Note: A Status of No services selected is appropriate as no additional DNS services are required.

After the customername.peeredge.com domain name has been added to the Microsoft Tenant, 46 Lab will work with the customer's Microsoft Teams administrator and complete the Teams configuration for direct routing.
