Capacity Groups

Created by Kelly Evans, Modified on Thu, 3 Jul at 9:36 AM by Kelly Evans

A capacity group provides a method to share both ports (sessions) and call per second (CPS) limits between one or more trunk groups. When a capacity group is assigned to a trunk group and the Ports and CPS are not defined on the trunk group, the limits defined in the capacity group will be used.  If Port and CPS limits are configured on the trunk group and a capacity group is also associated to trunk group, then the smaller value set the trunk group or in the capacity group will be used.

Example

To use 500 ports in a capacity group, you can either

  • a) NOT set a TG limit and let the capacity group limit the ports (i.e. anything up to 500 on either or both), OR

  • b) set a higher limit (e.g. 250) to allow each trunk group to have a limit.
